DR Congo Day 1.

Church

July 25

What?! What is all I can manage to say because right now I’m currently on a flight to serve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It’s unbelievable to say the least. Just a few days ago I was in Hawaii, and now I’m doing this. People keep telling me how crazy it is that I get to travel the world like this, and my response is always, “You think it’s crazy, I’m the one living it!” In less than a year I’ve been to six different countries, lived in Europe then San Diego then Hawaii and now I’m embarking on a journey to Africa. I don’t know how I got to this point in my life, but I absolutely love it. Traveling the world has been exhilarating!

My trip to Africa by far has been my most nerve wracking one yet. My stomach was in knots, I thought of any situation I could to get out of it, and I completely didn’t know what to expect. Yet no amount of fear could outweigh my pure excitement to serve in Africa.

God has called me to do something out of the ordinary. He has called me to Africa. My heart yearns to make God smile, so there was no way I was getting out of this one. I feel so incredibly blessed to take part in a once in a lifetime opportunity. Blessed to be surrounded by friends as I do something out of my comfort zone. It is going to be something I’m not used to, but with God I’m ready for whatever comes my way.
