Barcelona Day 11.

It was bound to happen sooner or later! Today was the day… that I went shopping! Now before you go crazy and text me saying I wasted my money Mom, I will tell you that I only bought two things plus some necessary shampoos and conditioners. My day was mostly spent taking a look at everything and admiring the things I resisted myself from buying. But let’s back up a little bit. Before the shopping day began, I was abruptly woken up by the cleaning lady who said my roommate and I had ten minutes before they were coming in to clean our room… So what does one do when they’ve just woken up and aren’t ready to present themselves to the world but needs to leave their room? You hangout by the pool! Yep, it was a lovely 3 hours by the pool reading a new book “Looking for Alaska” by John Green, that I am now completely glued to! When pool time ended, my roommate and I headed to Passeig de Gracia and Las Ramblas where there’s a Zara on every corner and at least 5 H&M’s on the entire strip. Like I said, my self control was pretty fantastic for the most part! Although when we discovered that Corte Ingles had all the American brands you couldn’t find anywhere else, I did have to purchase the only shampoo and conditioner that won’t tangle up my hair, so this purchase was pretty necessary. Still, I was able to convince myself not to buy any new makeup or even walk through the purse sections. The most exciting part of my day though would have to be what came up after this. Churros con chocolate!! It took us a while, but we found the highly reviewed cafe, Granja La Pallaresa, tucked away in a small alley way with hardly any American tourists around. Now that’s how you know it’s going to be good! Of course I ordered the absolutely delicious churros with what is literally liquid chocolate! My mouth is watering just at recalling this delicious snack. I don’t think there has been any other dessert I’ve tried that comes close to how delightful this was. After being completely chocolate wasted, it was necessary to continue walking around, and guess what I found? For those of you who know my addiction, this comes to no surprise at all, but I found Brandy Melville! I tried really hard not to purchase anything, but I couldn’t control myself this time. But I think I did pretty good today. I only purchased two things that weren’t necessary, and also ate the most pleasing dessert I’ve ever had! For now I’ve got to keep turning my eyes the other way until my day of spending loads on shopping will come! Adios!
