Hillsong Barcelona.

Sunday November 17th’s service was different than usual. This time the sermon was from a livestream of another sermon from a British pastor. Luckily for us Americans, British pastor meant English service. The pastor talked to us about praying, unity, and praying unified.

The pastor explained that God wants to fill each of us, but he also wants to fill all of us. God himself was unified in three persons- God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. John 17:20 describes Jesus praying over the people that they may be unified just as Jesus and God are one. The bible states that where there is unity, God commands blessings- where there are two or three people, there God is also. When we are able to unite together as one community God wants to bless us. God longs to bless us, but when we are away from him he cannot do it. Sometimes in that manner we can be like sheep who have gone astray. When you are united with God, there he can fulfill his plan for your life. He is waiting for unity. Acts 4:31 says that they all prayed. The pastor kept asking as what would happen if we could all just pray together? He described us like a symphony. We’re like a symphony with the many different instruments all playing our own notes, and maybe that is how God hears us- as all separate notes. But that isn’t how God wants to hear us, he wants to hear us all playing the same note. Then when we are united, God can bless us.

Prayer is strong. One prayer can be like a drop of rain, but many people praying one prayer can be like a flood. As Christians we should want a flood- a flood that will overcome the world with God’s love. So what would happen if we could all just pray together? Adios!
