Barcelona Day 81.

Meh, Thursday December 5th. If I thought I couldn’t be even worse at this last week, I hardly wrote anything this week!

So I had class, and I genuinely can’t remember what I did after class. What I do know is that I officially finished my last class in Barcelona. Now all that stands between me and home are final exams and a 14 hour flight. I seriously still can’t believe how quickly these past 4 months have gone by. I remember the last day of school when it broke my heart to say goodbye to my friends, because I knew I wouldn’t be seeing them for another 9 months. Now here I am, with only days until I return home.

Time passes by too quickly. Before you know it the day is over, the week is over, the month is over, the year is over. Being in Europe, I’ve tried my hardest to have a ‘seize the day’ mentality- to always make the most of my days and never waste a minute. But we all know that wasn’t the case everyday, because after all I’m quite lazy. Although, I will say that I’ve done above and beyond what I could have expected. My first week in Barcelona I made a checklist of all the places I needed to see. While I wasn’t able to go to all the places listed, I accomplished things you can’t put on a check list. I saw breathtaking sights, met incredible people, and ate one hell of a burger. When people ask if Barcelona has been everything I expected, I tell them yes, of course and more! I couldn’t have imagined of a better place to study and live abroad. I will never forget when I was swimming in the beach, looking back at the city, and thinking wow, how on Earth did I end up to be this lucky.

Barcelona holds a special place in my heart that no other city will be able to fill. This city is the beginning of my wanderlust. My first time traveling overseas and my first time getting the taste of what it’s like to see the world. In just a few days it will be goodbye to my chapter in Barcelona, but hello to a lifetime of experiencing the world. Adios!
