Hawaii March 16th.

We woke up early that morning running around to finish the last few tasks before camp started. I could hardly hide my excitement as we waited for kids to start arriving. Once that bright yellow WNA school bus pulled down the dirt path, my heart screamed with happiness. As I saw familiar faces and helped kids take their sleeping bags to their cabins, it all settled in.

Everyone kept telling me how much fun camp was, and now I would be able to experience it for myself. I had no idea what to expect, but I knew I was in for a week of fun and Jesus. Kids from all over the district came to learn more about Standing Out for Jesus. As I made new five-year old friends my heart grew more and more for this ministry.

There is a feeling unlike any other knowing that I have the opportunity to shine Christ’s light to these children. It’s a reward that keeps giving. Before, when I was a kid, someone poured out into my life. Now, as an adult, I can do the same to the children I meet. So my hope is that when they become an adult, they do the same and so on.
