Hawaii June 10th.

I always have a hard time writing about my Wednesdays. Wednesdays are what we like to call our busy days. It’s a day of planning what lessons we’ll do for Soul’d Out then running around organizing everything as the kids arrive. I’m in the office all day, and when I’m not in the office it’s because I’m going downstairs to eat lunch. Once Soul’d Out actually starts I’m telling so and so not to do that or so and so not to touch this. By the end of the night I’m typically covered in sweat and my voice is nearly gone. It’s exhausting to say the least, but somewhere deep inside of me I still love to do it.

I don’t know very many people with the energy to keep up with the crazy kids at our church. They figuratively and sometimes literally are bouncing off the walls. They scream and talk when you try to talk. Some of them can’t sit still and others you hardly hear a word from. There are so many kids, which means so many names to try to remember. It’s far from an easy, peaceful job.

It’s a reminder that God doesn’t call us to do easy. He doesn’t say that faith is simple, but rather following Him is an incredible journey of twists and turns. You don’t know what you’re getting into and you don’t know what to expect, but with God everything is going to be worth it.
