Barcelona Day 13.

Long bus rides are horrible. After spending 4 hours on the bus from Valencia back to Barcelona, I have every right to claim that bus rides can be no fun. Other than spending the majority of my day on the bus and coming back home to a gloomy and rainy day, I really did enjoy the little time we had spent in Valencia. Today we had the opportunity to visit a very gorgeous and big aquarium! Being the dweeb I am, I was probably more excited for this than going to the beach. The highlight of being at the Oceanografic aquarium is hands down getting to watch the dolphin show! This show made me realize 2 things. 1. what do you major in to become a dolphin trainer, and 2. how can I become a dolphin trainer. All the dolphins were so smart and absolutely adorable! As with most cute animals, I just wanted to run up and hug them! After the aquarium we headed to a nearby beach where my friends and I spent the whole time at a restaurant and not even a minute at the beach. Unbeknownst to us, paella takes quite a while to make and will take up the time you could have spent laying on the beach. Still, the paella was delicious, and it was also my first time trying rabbit! The funny story of my lunch hour though would have to be our tourist ignorance. When the waiter left four tiny glasses of a tomato sauce on our table we had all assumed it was a spread for our bread. It wasn’t until finishing our meal that we took the time to look around and realize that it was something meant for us to drink before we ate… Oops? I can only imagine what the waiters were thinking of us when they saw this group of American girls, who could only muster out so little Spanish, spreading a drink on their bread.. But we all overlooked our embarrassment and said it was a learning opportunity for us to know better next time! Being here has been a whole round of firsts for me. Everything is new, strange, weird, foreign, but very amazing to me. I’m not going to let my silly mistakes keep me from doing better and knowing better for the future. It’s all apart of this learning process I’ve committed myself too! Adios!
