Barcelona Day 27.

I’ve come to accept that I will never wake up early and be ready to meet my friends at the time we’re supposed to meet. Sorry friends.. But thankfully today I was able to wake up before noon and have another day of sightseeing! Today my friends and I hiked up the numerous stairs and massive hill to find the lift to the Montjuic Castle. Now I had some pretty high expectations for this castle, because what I thought was the castle, was already pretty fancy. Unfortunately, the castle was pretty lame, but the view was amazing! With all the mountains in Barcelona, you’re able to get such great views of the city. As I sat there eating my baguette I could see La Sagrada Familia in one area, Barcelonta on one side, Tibidabo directly across on the other mountain, and everything that was in between. The highlight of this visit would definitely have to be the views. Not only did the castle have a spectacular view, but in order to get up there you can take this air tram, and yes, this air tram also had a pretty amazing panorama of all of Barcelona. Continuing to explore the Montjuic area, my friends and I found the olympic stadiums used in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics! The stadiums and arenas were all massive, and I could only imagine how exciting it would have been to be there during the olympics. Now that our feet were absolutely dead and we were so tired from being out in the sun all day it was time to head home. Not long though did I get to take a nap until it was time to leave again, but this time for church! I’ve come to really love and feel at home at Hillsong Barcelona. I know I’ve only been there a few times and won’t really have the change to get involved, but I know God has great plans for me- that’s why he led me there. Because it was the release of the new Young and Free album, church was pretty exciting tonight! During worship there was the usual energetic dancing and singing, but volunteers also had massive balloons that they threw up in the air during the songs! It was all really exciting, and I’m starting to relight the passion in my heart for worship. Lately I’ve been starting to realize how my time here is winding down. With all the weekend trips I have planned, it’s really important for me to just live for the present day. Everything seems to be happening within the blink of an eye, and before you know it I’ll be back home. I need to start appreciating every day I have here, and just enjoy the moment. Adios!
