“In Christ we are set free…” This phrase was the theme of Pastor Juan’s message. He reminded us of the story in Acts 16 where Paul and Silas are in prison, but are set free after worshipping God. Sometimes God puts problems in our life to make us stronger. How do we react in the midst of a problem? Do we continuing submitting ourselves to this problem or do we look to God to be set free? Because of God we have the freedom to escape the problems. God’s love breaks the chains of our bad situations. When you realize that God can set you free, you can escape. “Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17. Paul and Silas realized that where the Spirit of God is there is freedom, so that is how they received their freedom from prison. When they had worshipped, they were calling upon God’s help. Sometimes though, when we’re down it is really difficult to worship, but in God we are free and he must be exalted. Because of this we must also share his freedom with everyone. We must show them what the Lord has blessed us with, and what he can bless them with. Pastor Juan said that this is a freedom that need to be shouted and told to everyone! So in closing, he asked us what are we going to do with this freedom? Are you going to take advantage of it and break apart from your problems today or are you going to keep pushing it off until tomorrow? One of the worship songs of the night was “Vivo Estás” by Hillsong Young and Free. (The English version of this song is Alive by Hillsong Young and Free) The lyrics of this song goes “En ti, en ti, en ti, soy libre!… Te necesito Dios, eres mi libertad!” In you, in you, in you, I’m free. I need you God, you are my freedom! He is my freedom, and through Him alone can I be set free from what is holding me back. Thank you God for my freedom! Adios!
